For just lighting to make the enclosure look nice or for heat?
If for heat absolutely not. For one, LED's dont generate hardly any heat at all and it is in best interest for the animal (and used by most here) to use a under tank heater.

If for lighting to make the enclosure look nice it wouldnt hurt but I wouldnt leave it on all the time. Only when you wanted to watch him at night.

Anymore info on this?? Looking at other ways to lighten tank other than night glow bulbs!!!

Had mixed reviews with blue or red lights.

Im also looking around for some lighting options. I wanna be able to set a timer for evening and have the light come on for us to veiw the geckos then turn off around bed time. I might get some puck lights and put red film over them

I know this threads a few weeks old now but here's an idea of what you could do. Its a simple angled ceiling rose with a 15w red pygmy bulb in it and it works great, its a nice soft glow that comes from it and it isn't too bright or too dark.
