Rejecting Food

Hey all,

My adult mackinaw snow has rejected mealworms for 3 days straight. This is unusual for him. He usually eats pretty well anytime I feed him. I tried feeding him dubia today and he was eating them like crazy! However, when I put mealworms back in front of him, he rejected them again. I know he was hungry, but why would he not want the worms?

Any thoughts/ideas?

They can actually get tired of a certain type of food. Sometimes this can be temporary, other times they simply have acquired taste for something different. Which in your case, it's dubia roaches. It's not abnormal as he's still eating, he's just preferring dubia roaches at the moment.

My two girls won't even touch mealworms anymore. If it isn't a roach or a cricket, they're not interested. Haven't tried any other feeders yet though.

My leo use to love mealworms until beginning of december. Now doesnt even look at them. He ate one cricket today but thats it. I'm worried as well, but i think it's a seasonal thing.
