Removing skin from around gecko's eye

- Malw
- about 7 months old
- Had him for about 4

A) Health/History
- not handled very often
- Has had toe shedding issues

C) Problem
- He shed last saturday, but has some skin left on his eye. His other eye has a black rim around it, I believe it is retained shed, but I am not sure. Putting him in water won't help, it does not touch his head. It's a small area I can't really get too. Is there anything I can do to make it fall off, or does he absolutely need to be taken to a vet. I don't have much money, so if I can help him myself, I will.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- 20 gallon
- Glass tank
- paper towels
- 3 hides made from gift boxes
B) Heating
- under tank heater
- Warm side 80s, cool side 60's
C) Cage mates
- None

A) Typical diet
- Mealworms. Lately hasn't been eating much, but before it was about 7 a day
B) Supplements
-Reptivite, and flukers calcium with d3
