Repti Shelter 3 in 1 Cave Cracks at night when sleeping?!?!?!

I just bought this new and put it in the tank on sunday. When I was sleeping I heard a pop sound and thought it was the house. I looked in the tank today and could not believe my eyes. Please see pics below. This thing was not cheap! Explainations? It could not have been the 50 watt blue night buld I had on for 2 hours. The light isn't even directly above the shelter. I just got my first leo yesterday, too! I will post pics of her later today--it was a very interesting first hour with her. I think you'll will enjoy the pics. . She is pretty sleepy right now.

She took a roll in the calcium dish and got it everywhere, as you can see in the pics. Leave it all in there?

You Said Tank...Glass?
UTH without air space underneath?
If so check bottom glass.
May be what you heard crack.
Overhead 50 watt + UTH combo could
really get hot.
Defect in hide manufacture.

Minnesota weather is pretty nasty! As I type it is snowing very hard. LOL! I have a air ventilated bottom below the UTH. The crack was the top of the shelter. It had to be. Those things are pretty solid. With the heat lamp I only reached 95 on the floor. Thanks for the reponse!

P.S. She is sleeping a lot today. I haven't even seen her out of the hide this afternoon. Her legs are in a backward position. Is this ok? Their heartbeat must really, really slow down when they sleep. She had a big day yesterday going from being tub raised, to being shipped to Minnesota, to being in a big home!

Contact the company and hopefully you saved your receipt. Even if there isn't time to return it, or if there wasn't a warranty the company may possibly send you a little something like a gift or coupon.

Hello, pretty! I could not believe it either. I woke up, checked the tank, and my jaw dropped. It has to be a manufacture issue.
