I've Looked at these a few times at a certain chain store that carries them. Every cup I open, they're never moving, or it's filled with the beetles or whatever they are. Are these things supposed to be moving around some more? With the movement they seem to have, I doubt my gecko will touch them if I buy them. If I ordered them somewhere, would they move more?

Yes, the ones at my pet store were similarly bad. They are supposed to be whitish/yellowish and wriggle around. The ones at my pet store were brown/black and getting ready to morph into flies. :\

My leopard gecko isn't big on them, but many people use them with a lot of success. I say order a small container online and see how it goes.

I got mine from Rainbow and they looked good, but my geckos were not into them.
i was hoping to pick some up locally first and try them before I ordered them. Though, she eats probably at least 100 mealworms a week, so probably enough for me to actually order them rather than buy in the store.

I would order some Phoenix worms! I ordered a trial cup (I think they call it the introductory pack) a few weeks ago, and they were all alive and VERY wriggly! My little guy eats them with gusto :)

I'm going to have to put in an order. She's picked up on the eating a bit. 20 mealworms last night. They had some sort of roaches at +++++, but they're a bit big yet. They've also been on the shelf 2 months. The pack date was 4/21.

Ug, yes, I really gave up on buying feeders at our local chain store. Everytime I went in there, it was like, "...eww." Now I try to order online and keep/breed my own.
The stock at today's +++++ had all turned to beetles. The temps need to drop here a bit so I can put in an order for some, or I have to figure out what day I can hold for pick up. This piggy thing eats 100 mealworms too fast. I keep buying the smalls, because the big ones look too big. If I ordered I could probably get medium.
