I've been interested in putting that reptile carpet in my gecko's cage for awhile, but I have some questions. Firstly, what does everyone think is the best way to clean it? Can you clean the poos off without taking it out of the cage? We currently use sand, and we like to scoop the poops everyday. Would that be possible with the carpet? If it has to be removed from the cage on a weekly basis for cleaning is that going to stress out my geckos? I've had them for less than a month and they aren't used to being handled quite yet.

As long as the poop is firm, then yes you can spot clean every day. BUT you would still need to wash it ATLEAST once a month if not twice a month. This will help prevent the chance of a gecko getting sick. The reptile carpet comes with 2 peices to a pack. This way when one gets dirty you take out the soiled one and replace it with the clean one. You just keep rotating them out when you clean them. If I didn't have so many geckos I would probably be using it myself, if not then I'd be using tiles.

I'm sure you have heard sand is not good to use, especially for babies. I know the choice is yours and I'm happy to hear that you are looking into other forms of substrate. :main_thumbsup:
