hey people,

i'm off to hungay for vet studies in 2010 and i have a fat tail gecko and a milksnake that i have to take with me. from as far as i can see from the internet, my pets have to be chipped with a microchip....

my gecko is 3 yrs old, can i do that??

and the milksnake will be 2 years until then...

please if anyone knows just let me know, i can't leave my babies in cyprus... :eek:

Firstly, I'd like to just say, I'm in no way an expert in this. I don't know if it's an absolute must for traveling there. But I do know that when the microchip dogs and cats, they can do them at a fairly young age. You would just have to find a vet that offers that specific service.

It's a pretty neat for of technology, way better than the tatooing they used to do. (Maybe they still do that in some places?)

I thought you might want to know what my vet told me. When I was having my dog micro chipped she mentioned that she micro chipped a snake once. The chip eventually migrated up to its head and killed it. She said she would never do that again :main_no: . I hope this information will be helpful to you.

Hi Marios,

I know your message was written years ago...but I'm in a similar situation where I would need to have my leopard gecko microchipped for me to bring him to Singapore.

Can you please let me know if you eventually went ahead to have your gecko chipped? If yes, how was it done and where did the vet put the chip?

I hope to learn from your experience.
