Reptiworms? Are they good for geckos?

Reptiworms, also called black soldier fly larva, are mainly fed to beardies. I am looking for an alternative to crickets for my gecko and the reptiworms website claims the reptiworms have a good calcium-phosphorus ratio and they are more nutritious than mealworms or crickets. I am wondering if I can feed reptiworms to my gecko instead of crickets. My gecko is a 4 month old Leo and she has not touched her mealworms or waxworm for days. She has lost no obvious weight but I am concerned for her.

Black soldier fly larvae are also known as Phoenix Worms and/or CalciWorms if you'd like to search the feeder forum for more info. Some geckos love them, some won't touch them. I feed them to my geckos that will take them (about half, at this point) as an occasional treat to add variety, but I can't see them being a good staple diet choice, good calcium-phosphorus ratio or not, IMO.

If your young gecko isn't eating, changing food might help tempt her, but there could also be something else going on, like parasites, infections, impaction, etc. You should probably go over to the health forum and post your/your gecko's situation there for some advice.

I tried them once. My gecko ate them happily for the first day or two. After that, he wouldn't touch them.
