She is not eating I have tried crickets and worms. I am going to make some Marcias slurry and see if that helps. I spent 30 dollars for a gecko that is not eating or is remotely active at all. i have leos that are very good eaters and she acts like she is not interested in anything. temps are good. i spray the cage to create humidity she just acts weird maybe i am just used to leos. all she does is hide all the time. I got her last week i think wednesday or tuesday. i only took her because she seems like she wasnt takin care of and i felt bad for her. she seems small for 8 months old shes 30 grams. i have a F2 fasciolatus that was 30 grams in mid jan and is now 42-45 grams and eats like a cow and i thought she was small for her age which she was hatched like april or may of 2007. I am just worried. I dont like it when geckos dont want to eat. I gave her some appetite stimulator and no eating yet. i might try to make a more natural looking cage for her and maybe that will make her more comfortable. i dont know if shes WC or CB i was told she was CB but i am not sure the kid did not know much about geckos and was trying to buy one of mine and i was like no. thanks for any input anyone would have if anyone knows the average weight a 8month old AFT would be that would be great. thanks

well my fatties dont do anything but hide and sleep and eat. if you just got her, it might take a little longer before she eats. although a week without eating does seem a little long.

her not being active is not a problem though, my fatties are the laziest creatures ever.

if she starts losing weight i would consider taken her to the vet. maybe shes impacted?

yeah i just don't have the money to pay a huge vet bill. also not too many reptile vets in my area if any. i bought the supplies i need for the slurry and i might make it now or tomorrow since everyone is now sleeping here. she pooped a couple of days ago it looked big and maybe had some sand in it. hopefully the slurry will help her get into eating again. i hate it when people dont do things right when we arrived at the kid's house he had her in a box thats like from a movie or something and she was very very very cold. i am guessing leopard geckos are more active than AFTs, shes my first so I am still learning. only time my leos are not active is during the day(somtimes) and during the winter they are very lazy.

AFTs are alot different. You don't even see them. My female hides all time and when she walks she only walks never runs. I would just give her a few days with no food in her cage to settle in then try a few crix. I only have 2 afts that will eat meal worms out of the dish. The rest I have to use tongs so they see them. You will love her. Just watch her weight and don't worry. Afts are also alot smaller then leos. I have a male who is almost 8 months old and just reached 30 grams. I took a gecko in from petco that had been there for 1.5 years because no one liked her compared to the leos. I love her. She came in weighing 30 grams and now weighs 45 or so. My female I have that is almost 2.5 is only 50 grams and full grown. She may not be hungry. Try to keep her temps kinda high. I notice with my afts in the winter if the temps drop my 2.5 year old female will starve her self for up to 2 months or more. Good lucky. Any pictures yet?

yeah like i said i guess i am used to leos and not knowing how afts are i was worried. i think she ate a cricket. i am making the slurry tho so she can maybe strengthen up and eat. i have my temps at 91 in the rack system. i have pix of her even though they are not great pix lol here ya go...i always thought they were about the same size as leos. i have leo babies i have hatched weigh about 25 grams at 2 months old they were huge i fed them superworms and crickets and they ate alot. I am happy with my leos some of mine got it on last night with eachother so i am very happy about that lol i had to play some barry white for them though lol jk though if it would bring the mood more often i would do it lol. here is pix

Most AFT's like crix so that may be the reason if you were first offering meal worms. It can sometimes take months for a new gecko to adjust to it's new home. I would say the norm or average is about 1-2 weeks. Also AFT's tend to grow slower then leo's. They can get just as big but it may take them 2 years to do so. I have a male AFT that's 83 grams, he's the largest gecko I own.

Don't worry she'll come around. :main_thumbsup:
