Hey. I’m sorry for crossposting this, as I mentioned most of it in my intro post, but I figured that this subforum was more the place.

I saw that I was supposed to fill this out, but as I only rescued my little guy about a week ago, I don’t know a lot of this. His abusive previous owner is not very forthcoming with information. So please, try to bear with my lack of knowledge.

About your leo:
- Sex: No idea
- Age & Weight: I don’t have a scale small enough, but he is about six inches long.
- How long have you owned your leo: About a week.
- Where was he/she obtained: No idea

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo: Almost every day
Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now: No
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe: No way of knowing

B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal): I haven’t seen him go yet? How long after eating does it usually take? Keep in mind he was starved for what may be a long time before I got him.
- When was the last time he/she went: No idea

C) Problem

The poor little guy was so skinny when I got him, he hadn't eaten, and he had a horrible shed issue on his head/upper lip/eyes. I've helped coax most of the shed off with warm water, but the eyes are giving me serious problems and I'm worried that if I don't figure this out soon, he's going to go blind, or worse.

Here are some photos over on my blog:

221C Baker Street

His eyes seem to be crusted over with old shed. They're wet in that photo with warm water, but the skin over them is hard. I have it on good authority from the jerk who originally owned him that his eyes were not always like that (I say this because, to me, his eyes look so bad that I wondered if he might have even been born without them.)

The last time I’ve been told that his eyes were okay for sure is mid july.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size: 10 gallon for now
- Type: glass tank
- Type of substrate: wood shavings
- Hides, how many, what kind: one, rock

B) Heating
- Heat source: Pad underneath and lamp during the day
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side): No thermometer
- Method of regulating heat source: I turn it off?
- What are you using to measure your temps: Not measuring them yet, will try to get a thermometer
- Do you have any lights (describe): one heat lamp

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- What you're feeding (how often, how much): Meal worms, he usually eats about three every other day. I have no idea if that is correct? How much should I try to feed him?
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect): Long tweezers

B) Supplements (describe how often)
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands): None yet, any recommendations?
- What are you gut loading food with: Ditto

First off, replace the shavings with paper towels
Second, dust with Rephasy Calcium Plus
Third, this looks like it is too far gone for simple home remedies. Make an appointment with a reptile vet asap.

Will do. Is the calcium supremely something that they sell at pet stores?

Unfortunately I'm having a hard time affording a vet. I'm gonna try to take him, but it's $85 just to see him so I want to make sure there's no other option first

the heating pad under the tank needs to be the only source of heat. get rid of the lamp and leave the mat on 24/7.
you MUST get a thermometer to keep track of the temps as its super important the correct temps are maintained as heat is absorbed through the underside and used for all metabolic processes such as digestion.
A digital or inferred one would be best and can be bought on ebay really cheap.
