I saved him from my mom's. He's super skinny and I'm not really expierenced with this kind of thing. I got him to eat a cricket and he's kind of resting but what else should I do for him? I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow (at least I hope for tomorrow). He's super dehydrated, starved and has never had a heat light before. Please, any advice is appreciated.

Ok there are a lot of things I can say and hopefully some of the pros will come along soon.
First... Leos really benefit from belly heat which helps their digestion so they need an undertank heat pad not a light. A light with a red heat bulb or ceramic heat emitter can be used if for some reason you can not keep temps up. You can go to most high end pet stores and/order online Rept-Aid... it helps in dehydrated herps or find recipe for "slurry" to help get him eating. I would try not to handle him too much because moving tends to stress them out (they wont eat for a week or 3 weeks) and in this littles ones case that would not be good. Make sure to get a vitamin supplement to dust the crickets with. (I use Repashy Calcium Plus) I think the biggest things at this moment would be to make sure he has the right set-up. There is a link for some care sheets at the top of this page. If he does poop take it and put it in a sandwich baggy and stick it in your fridge so that you can take it to vet for a fecal cause parasites may be involved as well. I hope this helps a little bit. Feel free to ask more specific questions and I will do my best to help until someone else comes along... you are doing a very great thing!

Lol opps I guess I could have told what temps to keep it at! I was so upset when I saw the pic that I was having trouble concentrating. I just hate to see any animal neglected when they depend on us.

I raged pretty hard when I saw him. My mom buys my 11 year old brother pet lizards and he just ignores them. He's too busy playing videogames and to pay any attention.

Yeah unfortunately that does happen a lot... My African Fat-Tail was extremely stressed when I got her... They said she had not eaten in a while and she was parasite free so it was just a matter of their kids stressing her out and not caring for her properly. Though thankfully it was an easy fix... I hope it all works out for this little one.

Other than being starved and dehydrated, he doesn't look too bad. Proper floor temps and regular feeding with nutritional supplements will go a long way with him. He's eating and that's a positive sign! Small food amounts daily tho, otherwise he may regurge. Uneaten crickets should be removed after a couple hours to keep them from bothering him. He may take well to superworms if you can get them. You can lightly mist the enclosure sides of his warm end to encourage him to drink more, also a daily warm soak in a plastic container will help rehydrate for a week or two. 15 min shallow warm water, add in as needed to stay warm. That's all the handling he needs until he gets settled in with you. It's going to take a while for him to fill back out, but other than possibly having parasites from improper care, he looks okay. Kudos for rescuing him before it was too late :) Good luck!
