Well i was walking into petsmart today and happened to walk by there little vet area and they had this beautiful little blizzard laying on the table about to be poked with a needle, the nurse was walking by and i told her to please stop them id take the gecko, well while i was speaking with her about the gecko she said it had been there for 7 months, and had shed problems, that was the reason they were putting it down,???!!! you put a beautiful creature like this down because you cant sell it?? so i purchased the little guy for 10$, and now he is happily home, tell me what you think i should do for the shed thats on him or if it is shed.

Usually people here recommend a warm soak to help with stuck shed.
Try searching "stuck shed" to get more details on a good procedure since it looks like you've got a bit of a battle ahead of you. Good luck & great rescue!

Oh my goodness! Thank God you were there!
I can't believe they were just going to kill him because he wouldn't sell fast enough. What is wrong with people!?

Hope you get your little miracle problem free and handle-able quickly.:main_thumbsup:

For our snakes, we use Vita-Spray or a warm bath with a little scrubbing with Johnson's baby shampoo to help with sheds. Is there any products out there like that you can use with geckos?

Wow, he's definitely going to need some work. I have a gecko with shedding problems so I purchased some "Shed Ease" (I believe that is what it is called), and it really works wonders. You just mix it with warm water and let them soak in it and it comes off so much easier, with the aid of Qtips or cotton balls, or even just your hands.

You will definitely want to keep that one's tank moist for a while to help keep his skin moist.

Good luck with him!

I usually have no probs with a warm water soak and a little q tip or finger tip help. They might never have had a humid hide for them either so that could be part of the problem. Give that leopard alot of TLC and it will come around. It will probly also stop being a bitter as you work with him getting healed. Very good luck with him.

i use Shedding Aid you find at Petsmart, it works for me with the one gecko i have that always has problems shedding and i spray it on them when it looks like they are going to shed and it really helps alot. at least the little gecko dont look too underweight though who knows on the age. i hope you heal him/her up quickly and good that its a good home now. good luck

i got one from petco that looked like it couldnt shed, and in those conditions no wonder, but i gave him a nice warm water soak for a 3 days in a row and then he shed no problem. If you give that one a nice set up id think he will bounce back just fine, his tail doesnt look bad at all.
