i just introduced a feeder dish of mealworms to my cage.

my male ate so many of them that he just ended up puking them back up (in a gross half digested ball).

this happened before when i was hand feeding him superworms. i just kept giving them to him untill he stopped, and he ate a ton! the next day i saw he had puked them up, so i never fed him superworms again.

ive never seen him puke up any crickets, whats the deal?

mealworm skin must be a lot more chitonous? do you think once he gets used to the dish will he stop gorging himself?

i really want to feed mealworms as a staple as it is *much* more convenient for me.

It happens the first time(s) feeding a new feeder item, usually to babies. Offer them again he will now know that his stomach could not take down that many. Try to only give him 12-15 each day if he continues to throw up. He may be overwhelmed by the amount.

I had that problem with my leo. I feed here a lot of mealworms one day because she just kept eating. I found all of them regurgitated(however you spell it) the next day. Just put a limit on how many you feed him like said above. He will learn to not eat too many.
