Roach and Mealworm Questions.

I have a decent sized roach colony. My adult males are dying off but I have yet to find a dead female or baby. What could be wrong. Also I have had two escapees from the colony both male and I am always super careful could the be learning to fly?

What is the average lifespan of the darkling beetle. I have read they only live a few weeks but I have been breeding for a while and only found a few dead beetles. Thank you for any answers.

I'm not sure about the roaches, but I know I've had my darkling beetles for about 2 months and nothing has happened to them, not one has died.

I think the males stupid themselves to death, almost daily I pull one from the food, on its back with legs going shooting food all over. If I leave them there they will die, I speculate the higher death rate is them just banging their heads into the side of the tub untill death. O and I have seen them jump a few inches and jump then flutter down, but I have never seen them fly up.
The few extra dead males does not really effect my colony.
