just a litle note, english is my second language so excuse any typos:)

Anyone got experience with using roaches as a main feeder for fatties?
Mine is a bit one tracked on the food and more or less ignores anything but crickets, she can take the acetional pinkie mice.
She turnes 2 this april and has for atleast the last 15months eaten nothing but crickets.
Any advise on how to chance the feeder to roaches, or will this be a litle tricky at this point?

Thanks for any response:)

just give her some small ones, say nymphs that are cricket size, she just may love em.

the chances are better for her eating them if she is hungry, and if she is coming out of brumation.

if so, then i would say no problem using them as a staple. probably way better than crickets for her. best of luck.

My adult fatty boy just ate a couple adult male roaches last night...he loved them :) I just fed them one by one, holding their legs with the tongs, and letting him strike...easy!

Mine were only attracted to crickets and grow up on them tried mealies and kings even leaving them in a feeder bowl but nothing. tried some dubia and they love them just as much as crickets. now they get a regular diet of crickets and dubia and soon to be terks.

The roaches i`m trying to feed her is Pycnoscelus femapterus, where the adult females only reach a size of 2cm (3/4 inch) and the males a bit smaler. So the size is very ideal.

Guess I`ll just keep trying to introduce them for her until she desides to try them for a snack.
