Robin says "Hi"

Friends,

Robin has asked me to make a post for her to let you all know she really misses everyone and hopes to be back posting in the near future. She has been feeling under the weather much of the time lately due to what we thought was allergies. It turns out that her allergies are actually Vasomotor Rhinitis Or Irritant Rhinitis.

Non-allergic, Non-Infectious eg Vasomotor Rhinitis (or Irritant rhinitis). "Vaso" means blood vessels and "motor" refers to the nerves, which innervates nasal tissue and the blood vessels. This is sometimes referred to as idiopathic non-allergic rhinitis. It is estimated that up to 10% of the population suffers from non-allergic rhinitis.

While the symptoms are the same, the only available treatment is nasal sprays. It can take several weeks for the sprays to have any noticable improvement and she is just now beginning to get some relief.

Hopefully in the near future she will feel up to posting and debating the issues here in a way that only she can. I know you all miss her unique posting style as much as I do.

My mom was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis a couple of days ago (Monday in fact) and she's been in constant misery for the better part of a year... You definitely have my sympathy, Robin, I hope the treatment kicks in REALLY quickly!!!

Robin has been dealing with this for over a year as well, and it's only been getting worse. We hope your mom finds speedy relief.

Hope you get to feeling better soon! It is just not the same here without you. Russ I know understand how it feels when you can't do anything to make your loved one feel better. Hopefully both of you will have relief soon.
