Robin's nest

A robin made her nest in a very low spot in my evergreens in the front of my house and I was able to get these pics
unfortunately-I don't have much hope for the nest/eggs with it being a mere 4 feet off of the ground
I have never seen this happen before and I have to wonder why she choose to make her nest there

It would be great if the eggs do hatch and i would get the chance to get some pics of the hatchlings

Another weird thing is that I do not see a male anywhere helping here sit on the nest etc.
I wonder if she lost her mate?

All in all-a very strange occurrence in my limited bird watching experience

I will keep you guys posted as to if the eggs do hatch-my fingers are crossed
I have to admit that the eggs and the nest have been undisturbed longer than I thought possible so far with the nest being so low to the ground
