Okay, how do I go about getting his poop checked? I mean, do I bag the stuff up and take it to a vet or whatsup?

put it in a plastic bag, like a zip loc and put it in the refrigerator right away. it's only good for less than 24 hours so you have to take it quick.

I wont be able to take him for at least another week and some change.. I have no money right now :(. How much does all of this run anyways? I will just have to clean it out and see what happens next time.

oh, boy start saving for emergencies then. there is a card on carecredit.com that you can apply and they will let u know right away and give you the number to use it the same day. the prices are diffrent everywhere around. I don't think they will test it without an exam so maybe around 100 bucks for both.

Jesus christ.. I dont have that kind of money :( I hope its just stress induced maybe? Or I have also heard it can be runny after they shed, for a few days? Because I know he is super stressed, and he just shed a few days ago. :(

shed don't cause runny poo. stress can make the buggies grow. apply for the card.

If you can't afford a vet visit, you shouldn't have the pet.

If I were to apply for any kind of card, it would be for one through my bank. I'm just going to have to suck it up and wait the few days though. How do geckos contract parasites? I have been trying my absolute hardest to give the littleman the best of everything ever since I rescued him a few days ago, but this is stressing me like theres no tomorrow.

You should consider asking why I have the pet, before saying stupid shit like this. I didn't ask for the gecko, I didn't even want it. But a room-mate of my friends abandoned it when he moved out, no food or nothing. He just left it sitting there for days, and my friend was trying to take care of it.. but lets just say his heart meant well, but his mind was off track. So I took him in, the guy who left it didnt have the proper anything for it, I got him new substrate (tile) new heating materials, new lights, new hides, new food, new everything.

First of all my don't let the doomsayers scare you. Second most vets will do a fecal smear without a checkup. Costs about $30. However I do agree that you should start to put some money aside for emergency not just for your gecko but for life in general. Also give your gecko another movement or 2 before you go running to the vet. Even if it is a parasite its not going to kill your gecko in a week or two. Next time wait till you get a few replies before you panic. JMO

Yar, that's what I will have to do. This is my first experience with a reptile since the age of 12 (I am now 20), I do have money saved but its in a NC college plan account, for college. I just feel so bad for the little guy, he didn't ask for the treatment hes recieved, so I just freak out knowing how stressed he is, I just don't want him to die. I'm trying my hardest to take care of the little dude. :(

Calm down. Check its temps first. Floor temps should be 90-95 on the hot side and 75-80 on the cool side. Any deviation from that can cause problems. Make sure it has water and keep feeding and supplementing as normal and see what happens.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. What I am saying is if you can't afford the pet, look for a new home. Its no different than any other pet, you wouldn't take in a dog if you couldn't care for it. If you can't care for the gecko, rehome it.

If said dog was starving, would you look at it and walk away, or do what is within your means for it?

So I have an update, my littleman has pooped twice since posting this. Once was complete solid, the second time.. absolutely nothing solid came out except for the little white pouch.. should I be concerned? I can take a picture if I need to.
