Whee, Rydia has been with us for almost a month now! She's been a great eater, has had no real problems shedding (aside from some shed stuck on her toe, which was safely removed), and isn't anywhere near as skittish as she was when she first came home. Sometime next month, I'll be getting the big front-opening terrarium for her, and will be making her 'castle' landscape among others. Once those are done, I may end up with another gecko or two, depending on what else I might decide to get for my B-day at the end of March...Anyway! I'll be updating this thread as Rydia grows/projects are completed/new additions arrive.

^-^ Here's the first round of photos.

Just a reminder of what Rydia looked like when we first brought her home. (~10 days after she arrived)

And now, 27 days after bringing her home.

Still looking to be a female as far as the flashlight trick goes, and looking to be a Hypo Tang to me, orange has spread (not clearly visible on the photo) to the second set of bands on her tail, too. And as I just noticed....She has a little heart shaped spot on her head.

I would say she's a hypo tang carrot tail, and very cute at that. I really love how all of her spots are super tiny and show up a lot around her face. She has a good sized tail for her age, lookin good ^^

Rydia shed again lastnight~ Very tip of her tail dropped off during a past shed, but this time there's no stuck shed on any of her toes or her tail. Still coloring up nicely, so much more orange on her tail ^^

She's taken up Sanzo's habit of napping on my laptop when I have her out/laptop running, which I find so endearing.

Time for an update! Been a while, again, but I've been busy with medical and family issues...The good news, though, is I'm up and walking now! Anyway, our little gecko Rydia...Or Ace, I should say (Doh! It's a definite boy, and looks similar to one of my favorite 'One Piece' characters, hence the new name) is doing well, and has finally moved into a bigger tank!

He'll likely be shedding in a few days, lost more of his spotting during his last shed, but I'm praying he keeps his freckles.

Now then...With Ace in a 20long, his 'baby' tank was thoroughly cleaned and was simply sitting on the shelving unit next to his new home. I hadn't had any plans to bring home a new baby, but I did have to go to our local Smart store for a mealworm run. Got tot talking with one of the employees, and one of the managers who both keep Leos. It turns out that the manager took home a super snow baby they got in a few weeks ago...*eyetwitch* With my luck, I didn't think I'd find anything other than normals or a few hypos...50% off day, so I looked in the 'normal' and 'fancy' tanks. Lo and behold, there was one gorgeous 'fancy' baby on sale for 20$. Yaaay~

Grabbed a cheap ExoTerra rock cave for ~8$, came home and got everything set up/uth turned back on, and put this little beauty in the baby tank.

Since Ace is now named after one of my favorite 'One Piece' characters, I decided to go the same route with the baby...And with that bright orange color, I couldn't think of any better name. We're all praying that our little Nami is a girl, two days home and she's already shed and has a great appetite. (Won't go after the smaller mealies, but has no issues chasing/devouring some of the larger ones or newly shed ones)

Also...I'm not 100% sure, but Nami looks a lot like a few Tangerine Tornado hatchlings I've seen...Her body is almost the same color as the orange on Ace's tail, and the orange on her tail is more red...Any thoughts?

Little update to show off the growing Leo collection. Nami has lost all her spots, aside from those on her head and tail (Head spots are fading though). Ace has retained only a few spots on his back, and is fattening up nicely, while new baby Sora is growing and coloring up! Her red/orange stripes/patches are really starting to become more pronounced, and she's settling in to life in my room now. Since Willow was hand feeding her, she's still learning how to use her food dish.

Ace's pictures are first, since he's the oldest. So different from when we first picked him up as a coffee and yellow hatchie.

Nami hiding in her favorite little den, her special tree which she'll never leave. Also better shot of her coloring...soon to shed, greying in the face, and her 'Snowman' face pattern is fading away!

And one shot of Sora, will have pics of her left side later as she has a straight line of spots on that side, yay stripes! Will also get a picture of her 'Skull' pattern on her head, when she sits still long enough.
