I would get a plastic tupperware with some small holes drilled in it for air exchange. Put some papertowel in the bottom for them and jut be cautious snapping on the lid that they are not trying to escape and you catch their toes. If it i cold where you are like it is here in Canada, I wrap a towel around the whole container to take them out to my already warmed up car. Then I do the same to get into the vets building.
A 6qt plastic shoebox is good, paper towel in the bottom, Nothing else that could be bumped around. Air holes of course. Even if its not cold where you are, wrapping a towel around the container will help minimize stress. No direct sunlight! Do not stop off someplace for a quick run in and leave your gecko in the car!!!!!
