I've been really cautious about picking up my leo, so how should I attempt it? What I've been doing is just laying my hand down in front of him and slowly moving it towards him. I don't want to force him to be held at the moment, because it's only been a few days since I got him. I don't want to stress him out. How should I pick him up without extremely stressing him out?

If you only just got him you shouldn't be handling him yet. Just leave him in his tank to settle in for a few weeks. Then after that just start placing your hand in the tank so he can get use to you, and wait until he walks onto your hand before you take him out, don't pick him up, that will really stress him out.
