What is the ratio of sand to clay that should be mixed when putting it into a Uromastyx enclosure, to best replicate that what they are used to in the wild? Also, what type of sand and clay should be used, and where can I get it?

Thanks,

sort of off topic, but when i kept a mali my vet recommended keeping it on birdseed.

i did, and it seemed to work great. the mali would even eat some of the seed sometime.

I keep two uromastyx. They both are on sand, and I bought a couple of hides and buried them halfway at an angle, so that it looks like a cave inside. They dig it out and Viola!! They both love the caves, and I also got them the half logs, for the cool side. They curl up underneath them and chill. No clay needed. But I hear that zoomed makes a clay substrate just for burrowing lizards.
