Ok I think this is the place to post this.I have a leo that is about 2 or so and I got her out today looked at her stomach and these 2 little eggs in her stomach!!!!And she has MBD.I here that infertile eggs often lead to egg binding......And the fact she has MBD doesn't help.I am gonna put a glad container with spaghum moss in her cage and I will have a lid with a big hole in the center of it.Do I need to give her more calcium then usual?

Yes you should give her calcium in a dish at all times and I suplement every other feeding with calcium dusted food. if she has mbd you may want to do more. I'm not sure how mbd effects egg laying. I know it takes alot of calcium from them. I would talk to a vet.

Im no expert at traveling with leos. I know it's not good to stress out a gravid female. so anything you can do to minamize stress while going would be good. I would imagine she will take it ok though. hopefully someone else with more experience with Mbd in geckos can reply for you.

See if you can get the vet to prescribe or give you some liquid calcium (NeoCalglucon) when you go. She should be fine on the trip as long as she has a place to hide. Calcium w/D3 is the key element here to help her.

My experience with taking my leo's to the vet has been relatively good. Just make sure they are secure and unable to slip and slide around in whatever apparatus you put them in for the journey. If you can't keep something secure, don't put it on a seat, it will fly off. I took one recently to a vet in her breeder tub (took all but her hide out so she couldn't get mushed). I think the actual poking and prodding by the vet was more stressful than the journey. Just take her and minimize the amount of handling you give her for a little bit, aside from meds and what not.

Marcia, good tip on that liquid calcium. Trust me, get some if you don't have some already. I had a leo that didn't get enough calcium for some reason (he was fed the same as the others but for some reason ended up with his front legs fractured). About two weeks later of that liquid calcium and feeding him mush food he was up and walking about. Can't say the same will happen for your leo, but it's a great way to get them calcium if they really need it.

Anywho, tell us all that happens and what. Best of luck.
