One of my gecko has scraped his snout during a shed 2-3 weeks ago, the area became red then later formed a light scab. Fast forward to 2 days ago, he went into shed again, this time he scratched off the scab along with the good skin, I can see a 5mm area of raw flesh on the tip of his nose now; its pretty deep. I have a couple questions:
- How can this situation come to an end? I mean, he is going to shed again before the area completely healed. Then he's going to scrape off the scab again...and repeats the whole thing.
- I tried to put some Silver Sulf cream on the raw area, he licked that off almost right away. Is the stuff poisonous if ingested? Shall I keep applying the cream or shall I just leave it as it is?
He is doing fine so far, still very active and eating fine; I'm just a little concerned with the raw spot. I can tell its starting to scab over, because his upper lip is slightly pulled back exposing his teeth now (raw area dries and shrink when forming the scab).
