Not often, but sometimes I get to catch some of my leo's getting a drink of water from their dish.
Most of them are pretty typical, walk up to the dish, hang head over edge and lick water.
Last night I was working in my study which is where all the tank setup's are and I caught a glimpse of the male gecko (Gus) walking up to the dish to drink.
He did the usual walk up to the dish and started drinking but then I noticed he started to dunk his whole head in the water. At first I thought maybe he was just trying to get something on the bottom but he was just drinking.
Pretty much his entire head up to his neck was submerged and he was just drinking away for about 15 seconds at a time. I dunno, I just thought this was strange. I've never seen him drink before so I dont know if this is something he normally does.
I watched him for a couple hours afterwards and he was acting fine. Ate a few mealworms and went to sleep.
Does anyone elses gecko like to go bobbing for nothing when they drink?
