Sealing grout

I've seen different posts where people use Mod Podge as a sealant when making DIY hides. I am making some out of foam that will be covered in colored non sanded grout so no additional painting will be needed (hopefully). I have some Tilelab tile and grout sealer that I used in my kitchen and was wondering if this would be safe for my leopard gecko. I have read where other people have used that brand to seal the grout in between the tile substrate in their tanks but have not seen anything about it being safe for DIY hides. Any advice would help.

I called the company myself to find out if it's toxic once it dries. I told them it would be used on a surface where children and animals would be in constant contact with it including an 8 month old child who has a habit of licking the floor and this is a quote of their response....."It is water based and only irritant in it's liquid form. Once it cures, it is safe and it is physically impossible for it to change it's chemical composition to become toxic."

That's what my husband told me when I was making my hides. I sealed them with Varathane. I have yet to put them in with the gecko's as I am going to let them cure for a week or until the fumes are all gone. Otherwise it turned out great, I grouted the styrofoam with 3 coats, 2 base coats of house paint then I went over it all with acrylic . 2 coats of sealent, the last coat of sealant I sprinkled a light coat of sand over all of it for some texture.
