when do you put the females in with the males and how big does the tank have to be?


right now we have them in 10 gallon tanks. we put them together different times of the year and they always produce eggs. out of probably 20 clutches only 3 eggs have hatched. im pretty sure its just our incubator but i want more life than death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im assuming u mean put them together to mate? Obviously they have to ovulate.When she ovulates put the female in with the male for 5 days, a 10 gallon tank is fine.If u are putting the female and the male together permanently i wouldnt recommend it because of the stress the male will put on the female ie constant mating or bullying.were u unsucessful because the eggs were infertile or they didnt make it to full term.Are u using 1:1 ration for your incubation medium?

You don't make them, they will ovulate naturally when they're ready.

#1 Are you 100% sure they are female?
#2 How have you been checking and what have you been checking for?

Just curious since that is obviously a really long period of time.
