So I am at a point where I have a lot of dubias that I think I need to separate. I currently have two bins, one feeding bin where I dig into to feed my leos and one where i my breeders.

The feeder bin is beginning get a little crowded, should I just leave it alone and let them continue to grow in size and feed my leos that appropriate sized ones and just pull the adults to the breeding bin? Yes, I have a lot of egg crates in there so that is plenty of surface areas for them to cling on.

Likewise, i remove the little new nymphs from the breeder bin and place them into the feeder bin and let them grow out.

Your not supposed to bother them for them to breed, I would try to seperate them, like once every month.

I only have one bin and for some reason no matter how much I bother them they still breed. Sometimes I wish they'd take a break.

I seperate out all the nymphs every time I clean the breeder's bin, that's about once every 2 months.

I pretty much leave the breeder bin alone. Only to check on them every 3 to 4 days at that.....to check on the water crystal and the food pile....I usually see thru the screen.......

Its the general bin that I was taking about and looking at separating the tiny little ones from the 'teenage' ones. Does anyone bother with that or do most of you just leave all the mixed sizes together?

OK, guess I can do that. There is lots of surface area (egg crates) for the dubias to roam around and of course plenty of food and water crystal to go that I should not have to worry about the colony crashing on me.

I started all this with 250 dubias........

Got to keep 'em seperated

Keep them together unless you need to have specific sizes available at all times. If thats the case do this: Remove the adults to a new bin every month. That way all the babies will be left behind. If you need a closer range of sizes remove adults to different bins more often

When cleaning out bins remove all the ones you can see and then dump whats left into another container feed as normal then as the tiny nymphs grow you can pick them out until there is noting left.
