Do female geckos have bulges at all? Or is it only males?

females may have slight bumps but you can definitely tell a male from a female when they are old enough.

One of mine is about 3 months old and is quite big (he's HUGE as my BF says lol) and he has very noticeable bumps on his side? Just in front of his tail - literally just in front of it?

Haven't weighed them yet - no scales at the moment - roughly how big are they are 20+ grams?

They should be about 4-5 inches long and still be slim in body size. It's not until they hit the 35+ range that they start to fill out.

I had one for five years that I thought was a male and after I found 2 eggs I realized- ITS A GIRL!!! She has bulges that arent so "slight" and I could see her pores.. however they were white tho not dark... but b/c of the size of those bumps I figured it had to be male.. so I guess sometimes its very hard to tell... I guess you would wait a bit :main_yes: then check again.. some people use a microscope :main_huh:

What you saw were dimples, not actual pores. Some females that "are fed well" will show what look like hemi-penal bulges. These can be mistaken for males. But it's really the pores that you want to go off of. If you don't have a loupe or strong magnifying glass then you may have to wait until the gecko 20+ grams. Even then an untrained eye might not be able to tell the difference.
