We'll I have had people on the board look at pictures of one of my geckos and say he's male just like what I thought. However, he still doesn't show matured pre anal pores. He does have bulges but not huge. They are bigger than my females for sure but my females have the pores that aren't of course male pores but appear like males because they are mature females. He is probably 8-9 months old maybe a month less. Shouldn't the pores be definitely showing now.

More info on him. He did drop his tail at some point. It's pretty much fully regenerated now. Would this slow his maturing or even gives the appearance of bulges from the dropped tail?

id really like to know for sure cause I just picked up another male and he bred right away with my female. He's definitely a male his pores are obvious and he's around the same age. My male weighs around 67 grams. The new male is only 45.

You know the more I look,at this gecko I seem to think his skin seems more loose than my others. You can see it in that one picture. He definitely has bulges. I will try to get better pictures. Would the loose skin effect the pores?

Looks female to me, too, but better pictures will definitely help. I'm not sure what you mean by loose skin, but I don't think it would affect the appearance of the pores regardless.

I added 2 additional photos. They are the first two pictures. By extra skin I mean loose skin. I've seen it on Leo's in the past and it's not a desired trait. I took some without flash and got a good one. Hopefully these show. I don't see ovulation a like my other two females that are now being bred. He's been in with them for 2 months and hasn't to my knowledge tried to breed them yet but I did catch him/her licking its junk with it exposed. So I really don't know.

I thought it was male too but the lack of pores threw me. He's got an obvious line where the pores would be but no holes yet. Like I said I also saw him licking his junk and I've been told females don't do this. Is that true.
