Shaking when Nervous

So I just brought home a gecko from work that I felt horrible for. She is gorgeous but way smaller than the cagemates. She is obviously malnourished, but what caught my eye was that when she walks, she shakes uncontrollably, almost seizure like. Now that she is home, she doesn't shake when she walks; we determined it's when she is scared or nervous. We will continue to rehab her but I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this?

lack of calcium and vits (MBD) dose cause spasms and/or seizures in leos among other things.
are you supplementing? if so with what and how oftern?

I JUST got the girl yesterday so its not due to lack of care on my side. I'm syringe feeding her baby food, warm water, and Repashy to get some energy and vitamins in her

It could be that she had no supplementation before which caused the shaking, and now that she's getting it, the symptoms have gone away. I've seen effects from Rephasy work almost immediately

yeah sorry i didnt mean youd done it. now that shes getting the right care the symptoms should subside. you should seek a vet to check her to be on the safe side though.
I would recommend trying to make a proper slurry from feeder insects to replace the baby food, slurry will be more nutritious.

Water... I have seen animals that are dehydrated do this also.

Give her plenty of hides, Give her great Supplements and see how she does in a week.

I figured she was dehydrated too because her eyes were sunken in a little. Very weak and no energy so we will see how she is in a week

So I'm worried she isn't going to make it through the night. She won't eat or drink, and she won't open her mouth for syringe feeding nor will she lick it off her nose. She has completely stopped moving twice, like, a dead limp. I seriously don't know what to do; I'm calling a vet but I want to make sure she makes it to the vet visit

I hate to say it but in my experience when a gecko gets to that state there isn't much you can do. They take quite a while to go downhill and are troopers to the end but there is a point of no return that even the best vet in the world can't remedy. One they start acting like they're in distress it's often too late. The key is to act quickly with these guys at the first sign of illness as they're very good at hiding signs until they're really sick. The place you got rear from obviously waited far too long. if you can get her to a vet its always worth a try and I hope she turns around for you and proves me wrong!!

I got an opinion that she is an enigma, which explains her coloring, pattern and behavior. Though she still hasn't ate and very skinny/dehydrated, it explains why the shaking only happens when she is stressed and this head thing she does (push it sideways on the ground.) If anything, it gave me hope. The lady said that she isn't in TOO bad of a condition, and that she isn't likely to die in the night, but needs time to adapt. So fingers crossed.

I think she might have crypto.... all she does is sleep, like, if she isn't walking, she's sleeping, I opened her bin and it stunk pretty bad and her poo is just smear.

Hoping for the best for this little one. I really hope she turns around for you.
Would you be able to post some pictures? I think it could be a good learning tool for those [like me] who aren't sure what a dehydrated / malnourished leo looks like.

I hate that I have to say this but she passed away early this morning. She didn't have any energy to accept any treatment we tried to give her. I'm just glad she passed with a loving family instead of in a display case.

Oh no...:[
I'm so sorry!
Poor girl. You absolutely did all you could and, from what it sounds like, it was just too late. I'm sure her final few days were the best she could have imagined.
I hope your work is able to see how this happened and make efforts to control it in the future.

My thoughts are with you.

I work in a few hours so I will let them know what happened. I'm just worried because if it was in fact crypto, all the other geckos in her enclosure could have gotten infected while she was with them

If you were feeding her a slurry or something other than bugs or if her kidneys were shutting down it may not have been parasites. Always good to err on the side of caution tho! So sorry to hear she passed :(
