She bit me!

We just got 3 leos about 2 weeks ago. Last week, while I was trying to clean the cages, our tremper albino female "Dixie" flipped out. She didn't like me getting into the cage, didn't like me trying to clean it up... really didn't like when I tried to pick her up. She reached her head around and bit me right on my knuckle! And oh man did it bleed! It didn't hurt hardly, but it startled me.

How do I go about taming a year old leo? The guy said that she was ovulating, could that have put her in a bad mood?

Just holding her will calm her down just fine.

For example.. This morning before I went to work... I checked in on my Enigma. Lifted up his hide spot and he jumped and hissed at me. I think its really cute when Geckos do that. I call it Personality. ;)

We also have an Adult Male Bayonaise Leachianus that is extremley cage aggressive. He will bite and lung if you go in his cage. That is a little more scary because they are much more powerful and larger than Leopard Geckos. He is fine when he is out of his cage. He is still a very cute gecko. :)

you have to let her get used to your hand in the cage , put your hand in the cage for about a minute and let her see it wont hurt her ,do it a little each day and eventually she will relize you arent going to hurt her let her associate your hand with giving her her food and water

lol, even tame geckos sometimes bite...usually they don't mean it though...Nuri has gotten me twice really bad...one time when he missed the roach I was giving him and the other day when hmi and narcissus were fighting...that one was on the knuckle and OMG it bled, so I know how that feels LOL it's healed up nicely though...and my girls have gotten overzealous at feeding time every so often and when I'm dropping in crickets I've been nipped cause someone didn't want to be patient

My husband said they look like they ready for some "love" ;) So we decided to give the male a pimp name and those are his women. :p

Man, we just can't seem to get on her good side! She lunges at us now. It really freaks me out. Anymore advice? Or should I just continue what I'm doing and just take the abuse?

if they feel threatened they will lunge and then bite. Time and patience will make the difference. Some are crazy though and need more time to calm down, if at all. I don't have any that nip at me except for special male that seems to take a fancy to my knuckle as well see this post if you want to know the what real fun is like - http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=8283&highlight=finger+attractive
