I know this is a big concern and has been asked many times. I have read many of these threads and have tried all of them over the last month. She eats alright for a day or two, then she will quit eating again. I have checked her air temp and substrate temp, they are good. I have cleaned her cage numerous times. I have changed up her food and changed the methods in which she is fed. Her cage is in the same setup for almost a year. 3 hides, water dish, food dish, decorations and all on a repticarpet. Is there anything any of yall can think of that I am missing. Thanks in advance.

Sounds about right. A lot of people only feed every other day so.. Doesn't seem like you are too far off.. But um..
What ad how much are you feeding her when you do? Have you ever seen her catch her teeth or toes on the carpet? What are you using for heat?

I was feeding her every other day but started daily to help her eat. I clean the bowl out every day now. She's never snagged her toes or teeth that I've seen. the carpet is pretty securely laid. She has an under tank heater and a supplemental lamp.

Like Ben said, how long does she go before eating? What is she eating and how much, ect. We need more detail.

What are you using to take your temps? Sometimes it's hard for the heat to get in to the leo through the carpet. (I honestly hate repti-carpet...I used to use it but switched to tile/paper towel)

She doesn't need the lamp, they don't bask and that could actually stress her out. Repti-carpet can be dangerous like Ben has stated.

sometimes she goes a week with out eating. When she does eat she sometimes eats everything, sometimes just one mealie, cricket, or whatever I try to feed her that day. I use a stick on thermometer for the air and probe for the ground. I only use the lamp to get the repticarpet the correct temp then turn it off. I will try paper towels or tile and see if that helps. I just hate the sudden change after having her for over a year. It worries me.

She likely may be coming into her first ovulation which will retard eating for some/most females. As long as your habitat is proper, temps are right, she's eating occasionally, her tail isn't losing a lot of size, and poop is normal then you likely don't have much to worry about. My boy Eros is also real spotty with his eating right now. He just turned a year in March and it is likely due to his internal clock telling him it's breeding season. He has likely eaten only about 3 crickets and 2 mealies in the last 2-3 weeks. Just stop changing everything, changes equal stress for leos and they will need to re-settle in after each change. Just be consistant, offer food on a regular schedule and when she's ready she'll eat. She knows what she needs moreso than we do so don't freak out too much. You can get a liquid calcium suppliment to put in her water to maintain your suppliment regimen if you're worried she isn't getting enough supplimentation but if she's eating at least 1-2 dusted feeders a week she should do ok.

If a week is the most she's gone off feeders, that's fine. My girls stop eating during the winter for about 1-2 weeks. Amirah even lost weight! But she went right back on feeders.

As long as she's not loosing weight I wouldn't worry about it. One week is nothing, sounds like you're just being too worried ;)

If you're going to keep the reptile carpet, just be careful. I took mine out just to be on the safe side.

I'll remove the carpet when she's done with this stage. I was only worried because her tail lost half of its girth. But it sounds natural because she still eats about once a week. Thanks you guys.
