Since we have been doing a lot of dog/puppy posts
i would like to a the story of one of my babies-Sheba Sue
Sheba was found in a graveyard by my brother-in-laws about 7 years ago and they went round to the various farms to see who may have lost her and no one claimed her
She was about 4 months old and at that time looked like a German Shepard puppy
They bought her to me-LOL and asked what they should do with her
they had one dog at the time and didn't really have room for another(although- i suspect that they would have kept her if i didn't take her) and i took one look at her and fell in love
sigh
that's how it always happens

Sheba is super smart and very vocal
I think that she has some Husky and German Shepard and God knows what else in her but she talks constantly and always has to get the last word in
She mothers any baby kittens that we have had to the point that it makes me think that she thinks they are her babies (she is spayed and has never had pups)and her latest trick is taking empty water bottles and chewing the top off of them
She doesn't chew the top once it is removed or the bottle just takes the top off the bottle like it really bothers her being left on the bottle
She is a very weird and wonderful companion
and i love her very much
She got out of the yard about 2 years ago and was missing for about 12 hours and of course i rode my bike around the whole damn town looking for her and calling her name till I was hoarse
It was really weird-I didn't find her and Glen-my bf came home from work in the wee hours of the morning and i swear she must have heard his car come into town from wherever she was because when he got into the car to go and look for her-the next thing that i new she was scratching at the back door to get in
He came home and could not believe that she was back

I was soooooooooooooo glad to see her and that she was OK
I was going crazy thinking that i might never find her or that something really bad had happened to her
She never told me where she was-i think that someone took her in and she got loose from them and came home and she has never strayed from the yard since
I fixed the hole in the fence where she got out from in the first place-my landlord had chopped down a tree that was covering a rotted fence picket and that is how she got out
Funny thing is that she could clear the 4 ft fence in the yard easily and never does-Thank God
Thanks for letting me share my story about Sheba and hopefully it all made sense as i am waiting for my pain meds to kick in so i can get some sleep as it is 5 am here

Sandy,

I am so glad your baby came back! I think I would go CRAZY if I lost Abbie, so I know how you must have felt. I have been thinking about having one of those chips put in Abbie, in case she ever gets lost or Stolen. It is actually pretty cheap, about $25 or something like that

She is a beautiful girl!

I'm glad she came back! I had a dog that looked just like her... Shephard and Husky, and maybe even a little border collie. She liked to run off, but always managed to find her way back home again.

Beautiful Doggie! The Chips are definantly worth the money. I Would recomend anyone with a dog or cat get one. They can't fall off like tags.

Microchips are a good idea, I have heard of them sliding out of place though.
My dog has a regestered tatoo, lol. It is on his inner right thigh.

Thanks so very much for all of the compliments on my little girl
I will be sure to tell her that everyone thinks that she is as beautiful as I do-LOL
I just hope that it doesn't go to her head
The microchips are a wonderful idea and so are the tattoos
I was actually more scared of her getting hit by a car then anything else
Sometimes I think that she is too smart for her own good but she has mellowed with age and seems to want to stay home since her
BIG ADVENTURE-LOL
She actually did have a tender back leg after she came home but the X-rays showed no broken bones so she might have been glanced by a car-it scares me to think of her laying somewhere hurt and of course that was all that I could think of while she was gone
:D
