Shed Problem.

Hi all, My gecko had a really bad shed last night I'm not sure why she had wet paper towels in her humid hide and it was sprayed down, normally she sheds perfectly so I'm guessing this is just one of those every so often bad sheds..i took her out of her enclosure and put her in my improvised humidity chamber which is a 2 gallon plastic tub which i line with wet paper towels sprayed the walls and lid with water and has a heat pad underneath the tub to keep it a little warm and create some humidity, i sprayed her with shedding aid and removed shed with a wet Q tip from her nose, mouth, eye (ouch), toes that were covered with shed and one foot that was covered all the way up to her kneecap...poor girl all that must of been traumatic but i had to take care of it.

So here's my problem, she still has some shed stuck in the vent area and all along the bottom of the tail, i tried picking her up and getting that with a Q tip but she was not co-operating, so i am wondering if this is something i should worry about and try to take care...she is kept on repti carpet and it's kind of rough so maybe it will come off by rubbing on the carpet.

Tell me what you all think, thanks :)

Sometimes they do just have bad days, mine do too lol
It has come to light however that a lack of vitamin A can effect shedding too. check your vits has it :)
If the shed is just a strip that’s not all the way round then I wouldn’t worry so much, it will fall off with time. however if it is connected round the tail then there is the possibility that it could constrict and cut off blood flow in which case you just need to keep trying to get it off. she won’t be happy but its for the best.
same with the vent area.

I use Repashy calcium plus which i think has vitamin A, I have to double check the bottle when i get a chance.
I gutload my meal worms with baby carrots so they get some vitamin A from there as well, but it's winter time and my geckos eat maybe one meal worm a night if i am lucky so they still might not be getting enough

My real concern is the stuck shed in the vent, could that cause an infection?

Thanks for the response.
