We've owned our gecko's for about a week and a half and our female is going through her first shed...I have a humid hide set up for her but she won't use it (climbs out when i put her in and refuses to go in on her own)and her loose skin is starting to feel crispy (best way to describe it)
Will she be allright or is there something that I can do to help her out?
The previous owner said that she misted them when shedding but I've read not to...should I soak her?

What substrate do you use? If you use paper towel just mist the whole thing( enclosure, not the gecko ) and that should be enough to help her along if not try a soak. Good Luck!

Most of the tank is slate. We have paper towel on one end where food/water is. She has pretty much finished shedding on her own except for a couple of toes (right at the tips). How long should I let her wait before helping with the toe shed and whats the best way to help?

If she won't use the humid hide then I wouldn't wait more then 2-3 days to get the rest of the shed off the toes. Since she won't use the only humid hide in the cage, then you may have to make all the hides humid hides. When the geckos aren't shedding I only mist the hide once a week. When I see they are getting ready to shed I will mist it as needed.
