Shedding issues! Urgent but not really.

Okay, this thread is about Topaz. She probably had the worst shed of her life, because she was able to get it off of her body, tail, and head, but her legs were still white from shed. So I decided to peel the skin off with tweezers. But after that, then I got it off of her toes, a very tiny little bit of skin would get stuck on her claws, and the tweezers wouldn't get that off. Will it come off during her next shed? I feel so bad for her. She has been having a lot of stuff going on (no poop, shedding) and Blaze is just a happy camper. Are there procedures to remove these little bits? Man, it's just one health issue after another... :wall:

bad sheds are normally due to the humidity being to low in the viv and or it could be related to a lack of calcium and vitamins.

you need a moist hide if you don't have one. I have one and my leo sheds perfectly every time. Just take a cheap container with a lid (I use a shallow Glad container) slap some moist paper towels in there, cut a hole in the lid, put the lid on and put it on the hot side. To get shed off, put Topaz in warm water up to her belly. Let her sit there for about 15 minutes then use a Q-tip to gently rub off the shed. If the shed doesn't come off easily, let her soak some more. I would NEVER use tweezers, because the new skin is very delicate and sensitive.
