Shedding Locusts!!

Hi,
Just wanted to post this,I had a bit of a fright today as two of my locusts seemed to be hanging down from the bark in my viv, :main_huh:I thought they were dead!All of a sudden they shed their skin and came out alot bigger,I never knew they did this!!Just wanted to let others know incase this happens to them as I couldnt work out what was happening at first lol

Just thought I'd share that I saw a documentary recently about locusts, and the locusts ('hoppers') that usually get fed to small reptiles are actually in the juvenille stage of their life. Once the locusts decide that its time (usually when they run out of food) they cocoon themselves and morph into adults with their own brand new wings! These are the locusts that start swarms and devistate crops.

A few of our locusts did this too but our leo relished the mega locust like Christmas dinner :D
