Hi there, although i have done a tonne of reading, i'm still a noob at this...over the past month i have aquired 4 geckos..two of them are a male and female tangerine tornado I got at a reptile expo...

Suddenly today i noticed the male has paled over all of his body except for the front of his head...as you can see in the pic..

He has a wet hide, but he is the only one out of the 4 i have that has not gone in it...i even put him in it a couple of times so he knows its there but no luck...

Just yesterday he was beautiful orange and today this....

Could he be shedding soon and it's all good? OR could this be an illness? Should I soak him in luke warm water for 15 minutes or should i leave it a couple days and see how it goes?

Any advice would be appreciated...thanks

Looks to be shedding to me. Sometimes, when they first start shedding themselves, they will lick, then pull the skin off their heads first, leaving what you pictured. Just keep an eye on him, if he's having issues, put him in a warm bath and gently take a q-tip to any problem areas :)

Looks like it's ready to shed.
Do you have him housed by himself?

You can put some warm damp wash cloths in there
and mist him with some water.
You want to do this ASAP, because looks like he's ready!!

You can fold the wet wash cloth in half, and put a
hiding cave over top of it to give him a warm damp floor.

As long as they have plenty of moist humidity, you should have no
probs.
I have very seldom even seen any of my leos shed, though sometimes
I see little pieces of skin laying around.

I don't get it...I went out for a little shopping, came back and he was fine...all of the fading is gone..I don't see how he could have shed and eaten it all with no evidence in that much time..there is not even a tiny flake on a toe nail...i wonder what happened..

Once they get started-they can peel the skin off and eat it in 10 minutes-especially when it comes off in large pieces

When the shed comes off easily-it just pulls off like a glove(even on their feet)and that is why it can be over so fast and the actual act of shedding is often missed being seen by keepers

BTW-nice geckos
