Shedding problem and more!

I need help. If I don't get any really good suggestions, I will be taking a trip to the vet tomorrow.

My leopard geckos always have a wet hide. One of my geckos is now having problems shedding... and more. She started shedding two weeks ago, and as a new leopard gecko owner, I didn't realize it was a huge problem that she didn't finish shedding. I looked it up today, and read that I should give her a bath in warm water for 15 minutes. As I was watching her soak in the water, I noticed several red cuts on her skin that could not have been caused by another gecko. She finished soaking, so I started to gently and slowly pull at the dead skin (what I read to do) She didn't complain at all, so I thought I was doing good. Then I noticed her back was redish... and raw looking. I started to worry, so I stopped and let her dry off. the skin was still raw, and when I gently touched it she jerked away. The dead skin is not all off either.

So now I'm really worried, and I feel horrible that I hurt her, even though I was trying to help.

Is there any type of ointment I can buy that will stop her from getting infected and help her heal? Also, is there a better way to get the dead skin off? I'm a new leopard gecko owner, and I didn't know if this has happened to anyone before.

I apologize, I can't get a good picture where you can see what I'm taking about. I have used a heat lamp up until today actually. I switched over to an uth.

I'll separate her from my other two geckos tonight, and put some neossporin on her.

Exactly. Most likely it was either caused by another gecko or burns from the heat lamp. With a picture we could probably help you more. Definitely get rid of the heat lamp and use just the uth, as well as separate them. Watch it over the next week and if there is no signs of healing get it to a vet. For now use neosporin.

When you house mor than one in one tank they should be a hide for each one. a humid hide for each one and the tank should be big. if it continues it could be fungal so take her to the vet.

To answer your question about a better way to get stuck shed off, we use a damp Q-tip and roll the skin, that way it will roll off by itself if it is ready to come off. You should not pull on it with your fingers because you could be ripping it off when it is not ready, hence the raw skin underneath.

Yeah I figured that out. Shes doing much better, she went into shed again (never finished from before) and she just has some dead skin on her head left to go. I've been soaking her everyday for 30 mins. She is looking a lot better now

Clarification?

I had a similar problem with a diablo blanco of mine "Ray" where the shedding left a slightly red mark on his tail and on his side. This was from a poor shedding that occurred when the power dropped and the Leos went without heat for a day. Thank God the power came on that night before anything overly detrimental took place but it was still enough to disrupt the shedding process and prompt my interference. Correct me if I'm wrong but here are the pictures that explain "Ray's" marks. The most noticeable mark is on his tail.
