My AFT is having some serious problems on his back feet with shedding. One foot looks like he's wearing a mitten. The other foot just still has skin on it. I don't want the poor guy to lose his toes!
Yesterday, I soaked him in warm water and something called Shed-Ease. I put sphagnum moss under his favorite hide outs to try to encourage him to be in the higher humid areas earlier today. He doesn't seem to enjoy being in his hide out anymore. And, there has been no change with his feet.
Yes, I understand that it's only been a day, but I'm worried. When I went to the pet store where I bought him way back in the day, the guy told me I need to get it off. he said I could bring him in and he'd take it off. It made it sound like he'd pick it off, which I've heard is bad.
Can anyone give me any advice as to how to help him now? And prevent this in the future? I mist once a day. Should I try going up to two? I don't think the other moss we used to have before the sphagnum kept moisture as much, so I'm hoping that will help too.
