I need some help with ideas for the best way to get a piece of left over skin off my leos toe. I tried to use some tweezers to help, but he just wouldnt stay still and he seemed to stress out when I held him to try and get it. Should I put him in a shallow dish of warm water and let him work it off? He had no problem getting rid of all the skin on his first 2 sheds. I just want to make sure it comes off because I don't want him to lose his toe.

Most suggest a damp qtip and very lightly rub their toes.

Yeaup! That's what I do. First, I soak Sonny in a shallow tub of warm water (just covering her does) for about 10-15 minutes. Then, I take her out and hold her while I gently rub the skin off her toes with a Q-tip. At first, she hated it and kept walking off my hand, but eventually she stayed still. It may take some time, but you'll eventually get it off :)

I put the animal on my lap and with a damp qtip I firmly put the qtip on her toe and as she starts to walk I firmly press down on the toe.So Im letting her naturally let the qtip do its thing. This works great if u cant keep your leo still.Instead of rubbing the qtip i let her do the work

Thx for the advice. He/she came out of the warm hide earlier and I noticed the skin was gone. I will use the qtip thing the next time it happens and see how that works for me.

My leo has trouble with skin on her toes once in awhile, and I do this same thing. It works well. Usually she gets all the shed off but every so often a few toes get missed. She almost lost one a couple months ago!
