Shelf Liner

Hello all, newbie here with a quick question. I am making a switch from sand substrate to shelf liner and was wondering how many layers of the liner I should use? Is there any benefit to using more than one. By the way I am using a UTH for belly heat and controlling that with a lamp dimmer.

If you have a dimmer, I would think just 1 would be fine. Just wanna caution you, though... not sure if you have looked into it, but some of those liners (especially the self-stick kind) give off toxic fumes when heated.

I am using the non-adhesive kind. I went with using one layer and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks!
