My gravid Tremper female dropped me a clutch on the 9th, which turned out infertile. Today I was cleaning cages and found what appears to be an egg..... Minus the shell. She still has another one coming in her belly that looks healthy but at least a week out, and I have no idea what to make of this. Thoughts?

They're infertile eggs sometimes called slugs (not sure if it's a term mainly used by snake folks or by gecko folks too tho). She may have reabsorbed the shell or never put one on. If you intended to breed her I would repair her with the male. Even if you didn't intend to breed I would make sure she has a nice moist hide so she can have somewhere to lay eggs so she doesn't hold on to them too long.

I figured it was a slug; I too have heard the term with Python keepers. I just didn't know it happened in geckos... Ya learn something every day. I'll try repairing her with the male and see if she's receptive; she already has a smart balance butter tub filled with about 2" of moist coco fiber, she doesn't seem interested in it though :/ I've only seen her digging in it one time despite this being her third egg... Or, "egg".
