I have a female leopard gecko thats about 1.5 years old and she hasn't eaten anything but 2 crickets and 1 mealworms for about 2 or 3 months. She doesn't look like she's lost any weight and I have been squeezing the guts out of the mealworms and she'll lick those but she doesn't seem to want to eat anything. I know it could be ovulation but I'm not sure how to check wether it is or not so could anyone tell me how to? and possibly post some pics of and ovulating female so I can compare?

Here you go! I'm sorry, but I really don't know much else on the subject... I do know though that the pink belly spot becomes very visible (unless you have a chubby leo) when the female is ovulating.

Edit: Also I saw another topic about a female who was ovulating and not eating so much. If she is ovulating hopefully some of the answers in this topic will be helpful to you.

If she is not ovulating and continues to not eat much I would take her into the vet just to make sure everything is okay. It's better to be safe and get her checked out to make sure the loss of appetite isn't caused by something else.

Good luck! I hope she turns out okay! :)

I checked and even though its not as visible as the leo in the pic I still see some pink. This is my only gecko so I know if she lays any eggs they will be infertile so I'd rather her not lay the eggs and go through a lot of stress, so is there a way I can keep here from laying the eggs?

You can try the cooling down method, but that might increase her loss of appetite... When you "cool" a female down you lower the temperature and that can help stop ovulation, but like I mentioned, it might also cause more appetite problems.

Ovulation is considered a natural part of a female's life. I understand that since she is your only leo, you might not want her to go through this, but you could also choose to simply let her go through with it and wait until she stops ovulating for the season.

Either way could be risky, but it really depends on what you want for her.

I think I'll just let her go through the ovulation after all thats what would happen in the wild.

Hello,
I am in that situation too, you can check these pics, I think she's through ovulation:

she's still eating so I'm trying to cooling down, about 25°C
I only think that november it's a bit late to still ovulating:main_huh:
anyway I'm looking for a vet...

Hurray she had 4 mealworms tonight. It's not much but its a start. The first one I had to hold down with my finger to get her interested but the next 3 she hunted down herself. I tryed putting more in but she didn't seem interested.
