How does everybody feel about shipping to a zip code that doesn't have a 10:30 delivery. They don't even have a 12:00 pm delivery all they have is an end of day delivery. The nearest customer center is 25 miles away. The weather in the south eastern US seems to be OK but I just do not feel comfortable. I KNOW it is up to my discretion I just wanted to know how others have dealt with situations like this.

Essentially it just means that the package will be riding around in the delivery truck for a longer period of time. Without knowing the specific weather forecast for the area it is being shipped to, I can't really say how I'd handle it. Also, UPS trucks tend to get hotter than FedEx trucks when it's sunny out because of their roof construction so that would be something to factor in as well. ANY time you put a live animal in a box and trust someone else with it you're taking a risk and you can never be 100% sure unexpected circumstances won't arise.

Thanks Paul,

I would be going to Florida. With a stop at a Hub in Kentucky. I would need to put a heat pack for evening travel, then it gets up to 73 during the day. From what I have read and experienced it is going to be at least 83 in the back of the truck I guess I will probably just try to work out a pick up at a Customer center with the person.

In my opinion that would be the safest option. If s/he doesn't want to travel to the customer center and you're guaranteeing live delivery, the risk--and the decision to ship--is all yours.
