hello,
i live in Israel and its hard to find here wax worms.
then i thought about buying them in US and then my family there will send it to me.
it will take about 7-10 days to arrive to Israel.
do you think they will survive the trip?
thanks
When I order mine I have about 20-30 die within 1 day (I order 350 at times) So if you order 1000 probaly 80-90% would die. No point really but you can try it if you want.
You should double check in pet stores, and look for online feeder companies. I think that would be your best bet on getting them to you alive.
Waxies are a pain in the butt! lol. They don't last long and they are hard to store. The fridge is too cold and the inside of the house is too hot. It's almost like you need a seperate fridge for them so you can adjust the temp.
We bought one of those little dorm fridges for our bugs. I keep it turned down on low and I buy 250 waxies at a time and they usually lasy me about a month. I normally loose 15-20. Like others have said, I would try locally first. You may try to see if you have any big sporting goods stores like our Bass Pro. People use them in bird feeders to attract ornamental birds like canaries and certain finches so some of the large ones carry them.
