Well I had this little guy hatch sometime yesterday. To start, 2 weeks ago his older siblings turned his egg so I don't know if that has much to do with it. His torso is short (some of you might remember seeing some other geckos like him in some older topics from other people) and his spine is crooked. Could this be caused by the egg being turned? Or could it just be one of those things? I have had 3 out of 4 other eggs hatch no problem this year, a 5th egg failed early on. I'm waiting for his clutch mate to hatch.

Brian,

It's very interesting. I have no knowledge to give, sorry about that. I can't wait to see what the others have to say.

Give him some time and see if his spine will straighten out. I think there are occasions where they grow wrong in the egg and it can correct itself.

I saw my vet tonight with "Little Ogre". Dr. Gold said it was probably a temp spike that caused the deformity and not the other hatchling turning the egg. He said he has seen some geckos that have straightened out over time but not to expect it to straighten completely. He also warned that sometimes it gets worse and that we would just have to keep an eye on his progress. LO (Little Ogre) uses all legs in proper fashion so it's just a wait and see how things go.

**By the way I love my vet, no charge for the visit. Even though they scheduled it as an emergency and that was only because he was booked through the weekend.

Yeah I have seen the video, that is why I said "...some of you might remember seeing some other geckos like him in some older topics..." I'm not as much worried about the dwarfism as I am his crooked spine. I just hope it straightens out as much as possible and that he's comfortable.
