Should I, or Shouldn`t I?

Okay, so here is my issue... I got a new Leo on friday night (a male sunglow) and I have yet to really handle him. He came in his terranium that the previous owner had him in. I of course, cleaned it out and took the sand out of it. He is a rather big boy and the previous owner said he has bitten once. Told me that it was dark and his wife stuck her finger in so it wasn`t his fault. Okay, so I have let him just relax the past day or two. I know I need to handle him in order for him to get used to me, but I am a little... hesitant to pick him up and handle him for the mere fact that he has bitten. I know, I am a coward. :main_rolleyes: So, my question to you all is, do I take a chance and handle him? Or do I wait a little while longer?

P.S. Does it hurt when they bite?? LOL

I wouldn't pick him up. It's probably going to scare him.
The best thing to do is rest you hand in the bottom of the tank, palm up and let him get used to you. He probably won't climb up onto your hand right away, but, everyday.. Do the same thing for 5-10 minutes. =) Eventually you'll win him over. ^.~

Hopefully, lol. I feel so dumb to be intimidated by a gecko. :main_rolleyes:
