Should I take Sonny with me?

Hi! Well, I'm debating whether or not to leave Sonny at home or bring her with me on vacation. We're driving, and it's quite a ride...about 20 hrs :O. We'll be on vacation for about a week. I'm not really comfortable with leaving Sonny with someone, or letting them come in my house...so that's kind of...not an option haha Although, I think Sonny will be just fine if I just left her alone for a week, right? I'll just make sure she has enough water (I'll get the water dish that's attached to a water bottle or something like that from Petco). My dad keeps saying I should bring her with me, and it makes me want to bring her along >.< Only thing is, when traveling, Sonny will probably become really stressed. I heard there's a possibility she can drop her tail and not eat. Right now, her tail is perfect, and I would really hate for her to drop it :( I've never had a problem with Sonny not eating, so maybe it's not such a big problem; she ate right after I got her and put her in her new home haha such a piggy ^_^ So what do you think is the best? Would 20 hrs in a car be too stressful? Also, would it be more or less stressful if we stopped at a hotel overnight, so the 20 hrs was split up? Thanks so much in advance.

A week is not a big deal to leave a gecko alone. It is a big deal to take them on a vacation. It changes the environment, which indeed causes stress, and a whole new set of issues that can be avoided. Extra water and a little extra food, she'll be fine. I wouldn't leave a lot of extra food tho, if shes a pig she may eat it too fast and regurge while you're gone. Healthy geckos can go a week and longer without food.

It would be better for her to stay home :)

One of those water dishes would be fine so you won't have to worry. Plus she's got plenty of stored up fat to live off of in her tail if she does go thru whatever you leave her. Worms in a bowl would be your best option, crickets pester too much.
